Can you get a good Philly cheesesteak at the Philly airport?

I'll be passing through the airport tomorrow with about 2 hours to spare at dinner time. I've never had a Philly cheesesteak and thought I'd give it a try. Are there any restaurants in the Philadelphia airport worth trying for that famous sandwich? Thanks.

BuffaloGirl-

No.
But if you pay me enough, I'd be willing to go get a cheesesteak from Pat's or Gino's (your choice) and deliver it to you at the airport! ;-)

There are places in the food court at the airport that list "cheesesteak" on the menu, but it's not the real thing.

For the real thing go to Geno's, Jim's Steaks, or Pat's. Unfortunately none of those authentic places has resataurant at the airport. Of course, if they dod I am sure that they would do great business.

The airport has NO good cheesteaks, you must travel into south philly for the real thing, IMHO Jim's on South St. is #1.

Thanks, everyone. I don't want to waste calories on something that isn't worth it! I guess I'll have to put Philadelphia on my list of places to visit in the near future and experience the "real thing" when I get there!

yk - thanks for the offer, but I don't want one THAT bad!

If you've got 2 hours to spare you could easily "go to the source" by jumping in a cab to Pat's or Geno's. Their locations on Passyunk aren't all that far from the airport, and any cabbie worth his or her salt will know exactly where you want to go.

You can't get a great cheesesteak, but I had a wonderful soft pretzel from a stand at the Philly airport!
