Can wine be purchased on a Sunday in Memphis?

I will be attending a dinner party on Sunday in Memphis and would like to bring a bottle of wine but would rather buy it there if possible. I arrive on Sunday afternoon. Also do you buy wine at a supermarket, package/liquor store or wine store? Any suggestions for a nice store near Poplar Ave TIA

You don't buy wine at the grocery store in Memphis.

Great Wine & Spirits is at Poplar & Shady Grove in the shopping center there. They have a great selection. I go there whenever I'm in Memphis. You could call for their hours 901-682-1333 but I think most places are closed Sunday.

bennnie, wine is not sold in grocery stores in Tennessee. And, liquor stores are always closed on Sundays in Tennessee.

So, you will need to bring it with you, I'm afraid.

Thank you both for the info. I was afraid of that. One more errand to run on Saturday before I go. Rats. And now I will have to check my luggage. This may not be worth it.

Any suggestions on a florist open on Sunday?

bennnie, here is an idea, but not sure if they have sunday delivery (they do where I live). you can order flower, or wine, or fruit basket delivery from a flower shop. there will be a card attached with your name on it.

maybe teleflora or similar - they should have 800 number - worth a try?
