Cambridge MA. 4th Fireworks, parking&viewing?
Would love to have any info on our spur of the moment plans to see the Fireworks this wkend. We are considering staying at La Quinta Somerville and wondering would we be able to drive our car to Cambridge somewhere, park and walk to the River for view? (They have a shuttle to the T but it only operates till 10pm.) Would we be able to find a parking facility open or will everything be full? are other thought was to stay at Hampton Inn Logan & take the T from there? I was wondering if the views are nicer from Cambridge because of the City in the background? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Although that Hampton Inn has "Logan" in its name, it's not at the airport; not sure whether it's near a T station. I'd check with the LaQuinta in case they're extending their shuttle hours for the holiday.

yes we knw Hampton is in Revere, (we needed an affordable pet friendly place, of which both these hotels fit the bill). Hampton shuttle drops you off at the Logan T, but runs 24hrs. We just called la Quinta & they said 10pm. Is there parking available at T stops? We could drive and ride the Red line down to MIT area?

I think parking at Alewife and taking the T would be the best idea. You really don't want to try to navigate around Cambridge for the fireworks. There's so many roads that are closed, it can be a nightmare. I'd get off at Kendall Square and walk toward Memorial Drive and watch them from there. Or you could get off at Charles St./MGH and watch them from Storrow Drive.

Thanks getting a lot of great info! We would never dream of bringing our 14 yr old "little" buddy to a pryro show..but he travels with us & stays in his kennel comfortably for a few hrs at a time in the rm.
