Cabin rental or hotel in Asheville/Smoky Mountains

Hello! My husband, toddler and I will be spending a few days in the NC Mountains in September, and I'd love some suggestions for a little cabin rental or hotel. We've spent lots of time in the Boone area over the years, so this time we're looking to try something new.

I'd love to find something in the $100-125 per night range. We'll be going the few days following Labor Day.

This place near Pigeon Forge is totally perfect - http://blackbearlodging.com/ - but we'll be coming from Chapel Hill and then driving back to Charlotte, so we think Tennessee will just be too far.

So, we'd probably like to stay in the general region of Asheville but are otherwise open as far as location.

If we could find a pet-friendly place, that would be great, but we can leave our beagle with my in-laws for a few days if we really need to!

Thanks in advance

www.greatcabinsinthesmokies.com

lots of options for you on the Blue Ridge

close to the smokies.

leconte-lodge.com for something truly special

but do not think they are pet friendly.

Happy Hunting,

Leconte Lodge--if it's the one at the top--is booked a year in advance, and you have to hike up the mountain to it. It's a real experience!
From Charlotte to Pigeon Forge is about 4 hours if that gives you a thought.
Asheville would be a terrific area. There is an inn at Burnsville, just north on the BRParkway (sort of).
Pisgah Lodge might be a possibility. It's "plain pipe rack" Blue Ridge Parkway hotel, but right on top of the mountain.

My in-laws live in Brevard NC and we go there every year. I can't recommend a place to stay, per se, but the location is wonderful. It has a wonderful, quaint town and is very close to the Pisgah Forest. The weather will be wonderful. Check it out

We visit that area 6-8 times a year & I always use vrbo.com. You should be able to find what you seek there...

Closer to CLT I like the Black Mt. area. If you want to be near a 'city', look around Hendersonville.
