Cabin on a Lake in Oregon

We live in Southern Oregon on I-5. I'm looking for suggestions of where my family could rent a cabin on a lake next summer. Anywhere within 4-6 hour drive would be ideal. Running water, electricity, family friendly price (not 200 a night) somewhere to swim and not inhabited solely by mosquitos We have two daughters, 17 and 9. They might bring friends. So a total of up to 6 people maybe. We have been to Howard Prairie Lake, Diamond Lake, and Lemolo Lake so looking for somewhere else. We would probably not rent it for a whole week. Does anyone have ideas of somewhere up in the valley or Cascades?

Go to VRBO and find OR then click on the area you are interested in and then scan what's available. Here's one that might be OK.

Littleman,

Thanks for the suggestion. I am a VRBO user already and haven't seen anything like what I am looking for. This one looks good, but every time we go to Florence it has been freezing even in the summer.

Elk Lake - close to Sunriver resort - I think is beautiful. Elk Lake resort has cabins although I have never stayed in them - just do day trips there.

There is a nice restaurant overlooking the lake and they have canoe and kayak rentals - and I believe also have outdoor entertainment at times in the summer. I have just driven over for the day to kayak -.

How about a river resort? I love the Metolius River area. There is a great family resort in that area- has a pool, activities room, a restaurant - lots of bike trails - I think it would be a fun family place to stay- I believe it is called Lake Shores resort -

There's Loon Lake between Elkton and Reedsport off Hwy 38. We also live in southern Oregon along 1-5 and our family usually takes a week to camp there every summer. I know there are cabins on the other side of the lake, but I've never stayed in one.

Loon Lake may be near the coast but you don't have any 'coast' type weather. We've been there when it's been over 100 degrees.

I know the camp grounds get full pretty quickly, I don’t know about the cabins, but you might want to reserve early.

I don't think there are any two bedroom cabins but check out this website. We stayed there a couple of years ago and it was delightful. Has lots of activities and its in Southern Oregon. It is away from everything but they have a restaurant and their food is also superb.
