Bus/Shuttle Center at O'Hare Best Palce to drop off College Student

Son taking bus from O'Hare to U of I. We will drive him to airport to catch the bus. What is the best location to drop him off? Terminal 2 Arrivals? We have been to Bus/Shuttle Center to catch shuttle to remote parking following a flight but it has been awhile and I can't remember what terminal we were in. Do you follow red line on the floor down escalator to elevator up to bus shuttle center and then to door 4?
Please refresh my memory. Is there literally a red line on the floor? Please advise. Thanks!

Bus?

Why not take the Blue Line train from O'Hare which will take him to UofI in about an hour. The train station is right next to UofI.

Perhaps the OP is referring to the U of I main campus in Champaign-Urbana, which is several hours from O'Hare.

There is no line on the floor, but there are signs. The Bus Center is near the Hilton and is accessible from any of the terminals or the hotel, just follow the signs.

I just assumed the OP was talking about U of I Chicago Campus. If in fact it is the Champaign campus then the OP should ignore my advice. The OP should have made it clear as to which campus they wanted a ride to.

The Amtrak fare on the Saluki from CHI to Champaign/Urbana is $14. It takes about 2 hours. If the trip must begin at O'Hare, ride the El to downtown and walk to Union station (about 5 blocks) walking past the Willis tower.

Sorry for the confusion it is the Champaign Urbana campus. O'Hare easier to get to than union station for train.

I hope he is not taking the LEX express as it is shut down and out of business due to safety issues.

What is the closest Amtrak station to your home? If he takes an Amtrak train to Union station he will avoid the walk from the El to the station.
