Maybe you could get there, or close to there, via other connections. I will often take a bus close to my ultimate destination, then taxi from there, rather than pay taxi all the way from the airport. I don't have atlas with me right now, so am not familiar with where Engwd/Ven are in relationship to airport. Hope these links help.
Check http://www.tampaairport.com/transpor...rnd_trans.html for ground transportation from the airport. Various cities are listed there.
Check http://www.apta.com/sites/transus/ for info on public transit throughout U.S.A.

No matter how "inconvenient" it is to rent a car -- I can assure you it would be at least twice as "inconvenient" to do the suggested route by any public transportation.
A taxi will be expensive (since you'll have to pay for his return as well), but is the only other logical option.

why not call Enterprise and ask about their Tampa and Englewood locations..they will pick you up....I do know the Airport location is showing no cars available but they have a location no too far from there..get them to pick you up at the airport or the Airport location and take you to the closest one..call some other toll free # and ask for locations...also try orbitz.com-----the car rental ould be less hastle....
