Budget Orlando/Disneyworld
I'm on the hook for Disneyworld this winter. We were supposed to go last winter, but 9/11 postponed our plans. Now my 12 year-old has reminded me that I promised that we would go this winter instead. We're down to one income from last year and I'm feeling the squeeze, but I'd still like to keep my promise to her.
Any suggestions or tips that could help us save money? Canadian dollars would be paying for this vacation and the exchange rate is still very poor. To begin with, we'll be driving down instead of flying and looking for a place to stay for 3 with a kitchenette. Any other ideas or suggestions?
I'm assuming that Orlando would be pretty quiet around mid-January and that this would be a good time to go - is this right? Thx!

Ian,
There are way to many hotels/motels in the orlando area to suggest the cheapest. I have heard that the Marriott courtyard in Lake Buena Vista has some really reasonable rates (around $29 a night). LBV is the closest to disney without staying on-site. Also check www.mousesavers.com for the best on-site rates (have seen All-stars for as low as $49/night. They also may have some specials listed for Canadians. Mid Jan is typically a very good time to come as the weather is usually cool and the crowds are not bad. Enjoy

Thank you for all the great websites. I found two additional sites, by following links from the ones that you posted:
http://www.wdworld.com/ (in French)
http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/
Have any of you ever booked through Dreams Unlimited? They advertize very good prices. Thanks again.
