Hello Everyone! Some girlfriends and I are planning a short roadtrip trip (4/24-4/25) from Chicago to Brown County. There is a Wildflower Foray going on - hikes and flower-viewing walks at Hoosier and around Brown County.
I'd love to hear your suggestions on where to eat, what to see, art gallery recommendations.
Also, do you recommend a particular driving route that's very scenic?
And - I've heard of the covered bridges in Parke County. Are we anywhere close by on the drive from Chicago to Nashville?
We aren't looking for a fancy place to stay - rather Super 8 or something where we can sleep in a clean place, shower, and have a buffet breakfast.
Thank you for your advice!!

It isn't very often someone from Chicago comes down our way in Indiana. I have spent lots of time in Nashville and surrounding area. It's a pretty small town with lots of shops and a few restaurant options. It is a beautiful area and there are some side places to go. Parke County is not close, that would be another trip.
I would recommend checking out the Story Inn for lodging and for dinner if you want to splurge. The Story Inn is outside of Nashville, but you can rent a room in the house or a separate cabin on the property. Check out www.storyinn.com
Or another option is to stay in Brown County State Park, I believe they have cabins you can reserve for the night at this time of the year. There are some Super 8 type place around too. If you are looking for the outdoor experience, the State park is a great option for hikes, etc.
If you happen to be Catholic, St. Agnes is a beautiful church just outside of Nashville for mass on Sunday, and they have a mass in the state park on Sat night (not sure if they have these this early in the year however.)
Thank you so much, Cindywho!!!
