Broadway - which tickets to buy in advance?

Jump to last reply

Our family is returning to NYC July 2 - 9. We have 3 teen girls, ages 13,15, 17. These are the shows we are hoping to see:
Kinky Boots - myself with 17 yr old, maybe 15 year old
The Cripple of Inishmaan
Violet (maybe, seems interesting for teen girls)
Which ones should I definitely get in advance and where is the best place to get them? I have used various online sites in the past. Which ones can we wait and use TKTS for? I like the TKTS option so that some days can be flexible. I have also heard that July 4th week may not be as crowded. Can that effect what might be available at TKTS?
Also, anything on my list that may not be a good idea for teens?
