I know no liquids allowed on board, but how about food? For example, bread, cookies, etc. I want to bring my camera with me too.

Any other update information? security checking time? back to normal? and carry-on luggage? the same? Thanks!

I saw a guy carry on a subway sandwich...but this was after the security check. he bought it at the gate.

We have bought sandwiches in several airports and then taken them on the plane with no problem. No drinks tho. I haave had my camera and cell phone in my carry case and again no problem and my husband has his computer and a small printer and no problem. Good luck!

I really need to check if it has changed being allowed to carry on a pet any longer.

Food is allowed, though nothing that could be construed as "liquid." For example, no more yogurt. But sandwiches, crackers, cookies, etc., are all allowed.

Security times are back to normal, as has been widely reported in the media. In the U.S., the limits on the size and number of carry-on luggage are exactly the same as they have always been. this is not true for all international travel, but it depends on the country you are traveling to.

The rules regarding pets are unchanged as far as the TSA is concerned. However, not all airlines allow pets to be taken aboard in the passenger cabin, so you have to check with your carrier for this issue.

What has not changed, I'm afraid, is the maddening inconsistency with which the TSA rules are enforced. This will continue to be a problem, I'm afraid. But the rules about what is and is not allowed are certainly clearer now than they were on August 10, and checking that TSA list is the best course of action initially.

Regarding US Domestic flights:
I carried 2 pizzas onto my flight from DC to DFW. Several people carried drinks from the terminal on to the plane and the flight attendants simply asked them to throw them in a bag as they passed in the aisle (after seated). No one was checking anything... some people still bought liquids in the terminal and took them on the plane. This is true of all the flights I have taken since that rule started. There has yet to be someone screening at the gate... Just a gate agent saying not to take on liquids. The last 2 flights the gate agent did not even mention it!
Of course you could be lucky and get an overzealous gate agent who does full searches at boarding.
It is very simple... check all your toiletries.
No liquids or gels can be taken into the cabin. Food can be taken in as long as it is not liquid or gel. Individually wrapped handwipes and babywipes can be taken in. Chapstick is ok at all the airports I have been to. Cameras are no problem.
Flight flying to and originating from Europe seem to be much more stringent. They fought with JK Rowling (sp) about her taking on her new book, which is totally bizarre. She was ready to take a boat home but they finally gave in!
