Bridgeport & Coastal CT

I'm going to the Bridgeport CT area the last weekend in Aug, and am looking for places to stay near the water if possible. I will be visiting Westport one day and Shelton the other, so anywhere near there would be great. I love to sightsee and walk, so scenic would be a plus. And I would prefer a nice, clean Inn or B&B over a chanin hotel, but am not limited to either.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
