We are heading to Breckenridge in July. Our group includes children ranging from 7 years old to 13 years old as well as my elderly parents. We are interested in whitewater rafting, hiking, biking and fishing. Does anyone have any suggestions on reputable whitewater rafting companies in the area? Any suggested biking and hiking trails? Are there any local companies that we could rent fishing gear from ?
Thanks !
Liz

Rocks and Roads in Utah

There is a good fly fishing shop in Silverthorne, and the Blue River that runs right by is trophy trout water. About 5 miles up route 7 there is a camp ground and some really great looking fishing water. There is also fishing right behind the outlet shops IN Silverthorne!! It is weird, but it is the tail waters of Dillon dam and the trout are huge, and feed on the tiniest shrimp fly you can imagine!!
I imagine there is a shop in Breck also, but this is a nice one in silverthorne.
White water rafting could be Iffy by that time of year. The peak run off is pass. The is no white water rafting in the immediate area. However, Brown canyon south of Breck is best. There are outfitters who will pick up in Breck using an old school bus but it is an hour rumble in the bus. Breck sits on the Summmit Cty bike path system and you could pedal all the way to Vail if you have the legs. There are sportings stores that will take you to the top of Vail so that it is mostly downhill from there. An easy trip would be from Breck through Frisco to Copper Mt or Keystone. There are bike rentals everywhere. Don't know about fishing gear.
Should add that I don't think Brown's Canyon would be good for the 7 years or the elderly parents. With low water comes more and big rocks and greater risk for going into the water. Wet suits are also recommended. You might find some float trips out of Glenwood Springs or elsewhere.
