Breckenridge accommodations
Hi! My husband and I are planning a ski trip to Breck this February. I've done some investigating on the web, but thought maybe someone has a first-hand opinion... We definitely want to stay in ski-in/ski-out lodging. The following have come up via my internet search: Beaver Run Resorts, Los Pinos, Four O'Clock, Tyra, and River Mountain Lodge. Can anyone suggest which of these places are the nicest, coziest, cleanest & most optimally located? Thanks in advance!

We stayed at Beaver Run, but it was 14 years ago. The location was great. They had ski lockers on ground floor and you just ski down, step out of your skis, into the locker room, very nice. We had 3 small kids skiing at the time and this convienence was absolutely wonderful. Rooms were fine and they had covered parking and indoor/outdoor swimming pool.

We have stayed at Beaver Run Several times(probably been a few years though). It has an excellent location, can walk outside and hit the slopes. The rooms have been pretty nice in terms of roominess and pretty clean.I dont know if they have done any renovations recently. Some of the rooms were a little outdated with furniture but I wouldnt be surprised if they have since renovated them. There is also a shuttle that you can catch outside that will take you in to town for free and it runs almost all the time. Havent really heard of the other places.Would definitly recommend Beaver Run for location.

We too are going to Breckenridge in March for Spring Break. Check out Resort Quest www.resortquest.com. They represent several fine vacation rentals. They have an outstanding reputation as representing high quality
places. I've looked on the internet and this is the one company that keeps popping up.
How many rooms are you looking for?
If you interested in a townhome, check out Saddlewood or Westridge. Also, Riverbend Lodge (condo.) has hotel rooms to 3 bdrm. avail and it's only 1 yr. old. Looks super nice.
Good luck.

I can't give a lot of specific information on those properties, as I've never stayed in them, but I would suggest that you check on the "ski-in/ski-out" part. Beaver Run, I know, is next to 2 main chairlifts. Four O'Clock, I'm guessing from the name of the property, may be ski-in only. If the mountain access is via the Snowflake chairlift, be advised that it's a long, slow lift; you may choose to take a shuttle bus to the base of Peak 8 or 9 instead. Beaver Run does have a shuttle into town, which is nice; ask if the others do as well. Except for the Village at Breckenridge, all of the other ski-in/ski-out properties are NOT within walking distance of town, if that's a factor for you.

Last Feb we stayed at the Village of Breckenridge hotel/condos. We had a full kitchen and 2 Bed / 2 Ba for 4. It was so convenient since we could walk to the restaurants in town and walk to the lodge/lifts. It made it easier if someone wanted to call it a day earlier than the rest.

We're headed out in March, and we've got a 3 bdrm townhouse/condo near the Snowflake lift. We stayed near there (not the same property) a few years ago and found it to be convenient. We could walk one block to the lift, ski-in, and two blocks down to the main street. We're staying at the Wedgewood Lodge this time, I was wondering if anyone had a good/bad experience there. Greatly appreciate it!

Dale,
A group of us stayed at the 4'O Clock codos 3 years ago and loved them. They are ski-in, and lift is across the street, like 20 feet away! The had a huge outside hot tub-fit 20 comfortably, and 2 smaller indoor ones. They also have outside BBQ's for your use. They also had a ski shop were I demo'ed different skis each day. They were not too far from town, we walked there and shuttled back.
Hope this helps,
Tracey
