Breakfast along I-80 between Sacramento and Reno?

We're headed to Reno in a few days to visit family and will be between Sacramento and Reno in time for a late breakfast, brunch, or early lunch. Anyone have a favorite casual stop along I-80?

Does Truckee count, or is that too close to Reno? If that would work, then by all means, the Squeeze In.

Depends on the timing -- but I'd also choose Truckee. Squeeze In or lots of other options -- just park on the main street and walk up and down to see what looks good to you.

My favorites in Auburn are the Edelweiss and the Black Bear Diner.

Thanks for your replies. We've decided to leave earlier than planned due to the forecast of snow at Donner (this is June?) We'll probably stop at Squeeze In based on your kind recommendation. The menu seems to be exactly what we'e looking for.

Recommendation for the Squeeze In - share! The portions are huge.

My house?

Is Rocklin too close to Sac for your stop?

Our 2 faves right off I-80's Rocklin Rd exit, are Pottery World Cafe (no relation to Pottery Barn) and Venita's Rheas on Granite Drive.

Good stuff. Prefer PWC a bit better due to the setting. PAtio seating available, too.

But I'd have to warn your hubby not to let you wander around inside Pottery World unless you bring a trailer.

Some nice "bling" in there but STILL not as nice as an Original Fodor's Pin!
