Boulder Colorado in August - things to do, see, eat?
Hi all,
I may take advantage of a brief in-between job time to visit a friend who just moved to Boulder.
I love to bike, hike, rollerblade, visit museums, go to music/film/etc festivals, shop, you name it. What would be some good things to look out for, when I go? (mid-August?) even just neighborhood walks, checking out the ambiance of the various neighborhoods - any suggestions?
also, are there any restaurants (or regional type food) you would recommend?
I will have a place to stay and my friend is adventurous too so I bet we'll be making a couple of little day trips to state parks nearby - any ideas for scenic views?
thanks so much - I've never been there and she just moved there so I don't know how much she'll be on top of everything yet, either...

Boulder is a fun city. We live about an hour away and have a tradition of spending one night at a different B&B each year. We take our bikes and ride from the B&B on the city bike trails to the Pearl Street Mall. The Pearl Steet Mall has so many restaurants - We do a progressive dinner. Brew pub for appetizers; Russian, Mexican, Chinese, Morocan (Sorry, don't know how to spell it, etc. for dinner; and French for dessert. The Mall has lots of street entertainers. The city has a great bike trail system that even goes part way up the Boulder canyon.
have fun!

Boulder is wonderful! Check out www.bouldermag.com for info on what to do. Also visit zagat.com's Colorado section for Boulder restaurants.

I love Pearl Street Mall as well. Have your friend check to see if there's any concerts at Chatacqua. Also, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival usually runs through August on the campus. Hike up through Boulder Canyon, drive up Flagstaff Mtn, hike around the Flatirons.
