Boston/Logan airport - tunnel to be closed until March 2014

Jump to last reply

For those traveling to Boston and driving to/from airport, a warning that the Callahan Tunnel - the tunnel running from Boston under harbor to (only - not from) the airport will be closed until late March. This will primarily affect those in downtown and north of Boston. There are alternate routes - none good - and all too complicated to describe here. But unless you have an updatable GPS, this will not be reflected on that. Not sure about mapping programs.

So even if taking a taxi to airport, a heads up - allow more time. MBTA is option, but can be a pain with a lot of luggage. And makes staying at airport hotel and commuting to/from downtown to save money an even worse idea than usual.
