Boston Park Plaza

I'm thinking about staying a week at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel. Has it been recently renovated?

as of last winter, it was partially renovated. that means that some rooms are still old, and some floors are still being worked on. IF you got on a floor that was fully renovated, so you'd have a new room and no construction noise, you'd be all set.
it is my favorite place to stay in boston, i always get really cheap rates thru priceline and it's location is excellent.
luxurious it's not, but for the money it's a great location.

We also have reservations at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. Which would you recommend?

We stayed at the Park Plaza during October 1999. We loved it. Perhaps this was before any renovation began - We didn't experience any construction/renovation noise or mess. If so the rooms were lovely (although a bit small) even before renovation. The lobby area is beautiful and the location perfect. You can hardly beat its proximity to the Boston Common and the Freedom trail and the subway. Have a great trip!

As a Bostonian I would pick the Park Plaza..better location...close to the theatre district and great restaurants. The Sheraton is further down towards the turnpike and is on Boylston street which is a great street for walking and getting to our Rodeo Drive..Newbury Street..The Sheraton is a huge box of a hotel..the Park Plaza has a warmer feel..but you know what..I don't think that's so important..but convenience is.. Then again you have the Lenox...Right now there is a great theatre season going on in Boston, come and enjoy... Oh yes. if your here in the winter make sure you go over to the Frog Pond and ice skate..
