Hello all,
I will spend some days in New England starting July 22 with flight back on August 3rd.
My basics are: Boston, Maine coast and Acadia, White Mountains and Whale Watching. I am undecided about Cape Cod and its islands....
We need to consider that:
1) I wouldn't like to make too many different hotels stops
2) I wouldn't like to spend whole days driving (unless I can see interesting places along the way)
I would like to catch the spirit of New England.....
Mission Impossible??
Thank you guys

Did you do a board search, or consult some guidebooks? There are some recent threads on this forum that specifically address that type of itinerary.
It's also tough to know how to advise you when it comes to types of attractions you like. Do you like art museums? Historic houses and sites? Hiking? Beaches? Shopping? Do you have a strong "foodie" streak? Do you have kids in tow? It will make a difference.
Can you give us more to go on?
I can tell you that for whale watching, that can be done from Boston. But other towns also provide this option, such as Provincetown on Cape Cod.
Many people from Boston go to Gloucester for whale watches. The go well off shore. Take dramamine if you have a history of motion sickness.
Otherwise, I agree with Bachslunch that there have been a large number of posts on this topic in the last month, so you ought to start with the search box on the screen.
