Hi-
We am flying into Boston this coming Saturday (may 7) morning for 8 days. We have a rental car for the first 4 days, thinking of driving to New Hampshire and Maine areas and spend the last 4 days in Boston. Unfortunately, the weather forecast calls for T-storm in NH and ME. We are comtemplating on not going to NH and ME because of bad weather. Are there other places we should visit outside of Boston if we want to change our itinerary in replace of NH and Maine?
We our two ladies in our early 40s. Our first time to the east coast so open to all suggestions except skiing...

Personally, I would stick to your original plans. Weather changes by the hour (maybe minute) here and you can't count on anything forecast 3 or 4 days ahead. The weather in the distance you would go in 4 days in ME & NH probably won't be that much different than in Boston. It is Spring and anything can happen. Dress for anything and have a great time.
If you see the weather will be truly awful you could think about heading south to Newport and Mystic instead. Bout our weather usually comes from west to east - so they may have the same weather - just 8 hours earlier.
Agree that you often can;t tell - it may show T'storms - and you can end up with one 30-minute downpour and nothing else.
Don't change your plans.
First of all, the weather forecast here is only a "guess". It's almost always incorrect, and when I check the forecast, I don't even bother to look beyond the next 12 hours.
Second, even if there'll be a T-storm, it will pass over in 10-15 minutes and then you'll get sunny skies afterwards; or the storm may completely miss where you are.
So do you want a touch of Colonial history? Such as Freedom Trail or Concord or Plymouth? Or just scenery? Might check past posts on Boston and New England. yk has been around and has much info. So many possibilities. We all have favorites.
Yes, the showers will come and go. But the flowers are in bloom. Do you want to be stuck in a museum?

Thank you everyone for the feedback. Sounds like the T-storm doesn't stick around long. Therefore we are going to take your advice to stick with our original plan. Drive to ME and check out the coastline.

Rockport and Gloucster are charming places to visit.
Rockport has a spectacular state park over looking the ocean.
It's called Halibut Point. You park in the lot and walk along a country path and you'll come to a quarry,friends would swim in it when it was privately owned.walk on further and you'll come to these amazing huge rocks overlooking the ocean where
everyone sits to picnic or sun bathe. There's a lovely inn just before the entress. I'll see if i can find the name.
