What type of brunch are you thinking? The Grand bufet? Then Four Seasons or Boston Harbor Hotel.

Or made to order, neighborhood brunch. Southend is filled with great places 647Tremont does a pajama brunch in which staff and patrons are invited to dine in their pajamas. Aquitaine, Metropolis, Sibling Rivalry are just a few options.

While Henrietta's is very nice and has good food, it is also quite pricey, IMO (~$48/pp) and is a buffet, in a rather large room. (It may just be me, but I just do not esp like buffets, for other than "utilitarian" hotel breakfasts.) I prefer either the Harvest, if you want to go to Harvard Square, which has a $33 fixed price 3 course brunch featuring delicious food and gracious service. If the weather is good, they will be seating on the patio. Another favorite is the Hampshire House, across from the Public Garden on Beacon Street, just a few stops inbound from your hotel on the Green Line. The Hampshire House features a jazz trio who (discreetly) play intermittently during the brunch. If you can get a table overlooking the Public Garden, it is really lovely. These are only two of many suggestions, you will receive , no doubt.

PS, as this is a holiday week-end be sure that either you in advance (Opentable.com) or your concierge, upon your arrival, make a reservation.

With your girls ages, I am thinking they might enjoy brunch at Sonsie on Newbury near the corner of Mass Ave - if you are lucky get your concierge to snag you a table near the sidewalk, they can people watch, - the bruch menu is nice, it's a popular place -
another which would give you the same is Stephanie's on Newbury, but I like Sonsie brunch menu better

I just think they might enjoy this more than inside a hotel which could be anywhere - or I agree with the suggestions of restaurants in the South End -
Garden of Eden also has great breakfast/brunch food and outdoor tables on the sidewalk - and great fries to go with those omelettes the skinny delicious kind that come in the tall martini shaker - yum - this is a walk for you, or a short T ride, but a nice walk and into a neighborhood area for this and any of the other South End restaurants mentioned -
I like the menu at Sibling Rivalry, but I prefer Metropolis, Garden of Eden, Stella's, Aquitaines -

While I like many hotel brunches, if the weather is as nice as predicted, I'd rather be outside or in a street level restaurant with large window where I can see outside - and have a nice breakfast/brunch but have time after to do something and not have been inside a hotel dining room -

but on that note, Clio's in the Eliot also has a great brunch - around the corner from Sonsie's location, but you will definitely need rezzies in these places -

definitely go to open table and book now - Sunday brunch can be so popular

I don't know if they've started brunch yet but a new place opened the girls might like on Tremont St in the Boston Center for the Arts called Beehive Boston
and they were advertising brunch coming soon -

Beehiveboston.com

it's food, jazz and other live music, check out their web site- might be a fun place for dinner hwile you are in town too - it's basically at the corner of clarendon and tremont - not far from the copley place, anyone can give you directions -

I'm too old and not good looking enough for Sonsie, so it will be perfect for your daughters. If you can't get a booking, the Blue Room is famous for brunch and not full of wrinklies, though it is a subway ride away. Afterwards, you can ride on to Harvard Square on the subway, walk along the Charles River or explore MIT -- you will be right in the back yard.

I don't have any suggestions for you but will only add that the best I've ever eaten was a trip this past spring to Boston.

Every single meal we ate was scrumdillyishious!

While we are on the brunch subject, I will be in Boston the 2nd weekend in June, celebrating a birthday...and I would like a great brunch place with champagne. Somewhere in the Back Bay area will be fine.Any suggestions?

Sonsie is very good. I also like Masa or Union in the South End.

Anne, you sound like my neice who was just here from Oxford, she shopped like a maniac for her whole family w/ the exchange rate being as is -

if your girls like shopping, check out this site and see if they might have fun there - my teens used to love it as do their now teen age cousins - sometimes lots of great finds, sometimes they'd just come out with some clothes by the pound (not your pound, they sell clothes by the weight for a dollar a pound -)

www.garmentdistrict.com

there are some great second hand/consignment/designer stores in boston/somerville/cambridge too - they were all listed here on a thread once, I'll see if I can find it.

Malaysia: any of the recs here would serve you well also - if you want 'fancy, inside, champagne' try looking at the web sites for Clio's, Aujourd hui, Cafe Fleuri, Copley Fairmont, -

more casual, but hip and with champagne, Union, and many of the others mentioned also - more restaurant than fancy hotel, but great food, service and champagne/brunch drinks.
