I will be in Boise for 4 days at the end of July for a soccer tournament and looking for some things to do. I'll be with my 16 year old daughter...so not opposed to shopping, but looking for some authentic northwest culture. What Boise known for? We live in NYC so looking to awe struck.
Boise, Idaho...What to do??

A really fun thing to do is to can ride inner tubes/ rafts down the Boise river. There is a spot where you can rent the tubes for a reasonable amount if you don't have your own:

Wear your swim suit, as a lot of the other rafters will have super soakers. They have a shuttle service as well, so you can park at the rental spot and go back at the end of your float. I can't rember how long it takes; maybe ah hour or two, but it's a lot of fun.
The Idaho historical museum is good, and I've heard the Basque museum is interesting. I had no idea that Boise has a huge Basque population.
I know there is an interesting Raptor center, where you can see falcons and such, but I'm not sure where it is.
