i am planning to travel the length of the blue ridge parkway sept 26th- october 2. i'll be starting from cherokee and heading north. i'll be stopping to do quite a bit of hiking and stuff.
i live in south florida so know my usual attire will just not do, but i'm not sure just how cold it gets with the various elevation changes. i figured i'd bring light, medium and heavy leggings to wear under wind pants, a light windbreaker and a heavier jacket, some hoodies, a scarf, hat, and gloves, long-sleeved shirts, short sleeved base layers...you get the picture. but will i be too hot?! any packing advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

temps can vary at that time of year. definitely layering--fleece included--and rainwear. any other questions?
Wise blueridgeparkway.org can get cold to freezing then
at altitude so pack warm layers and GoreTex rain jacket
with hood for mountains... also socks several pairs to change
nothing dries trails can get wet muddy.
wet/damp socks #1 cause of blisters.
It might also be really warm (perhaps even hot) that time of year so make sure you pack some warm-weather layers to put under all that.
The elevation of the Blue Ridge is not so much as to make it significantly cooler than surrounding areas.
