Has anyone stayed here? I have only found a few reviews online for it. Also any suggestions for a 3 day itnerary for my husband and myself? We would like some history, some nature and some of the hot springs ( and great food of course!) Thanks for any ideas!

Have not stayed at Black Bear but have not heard anything negative about it. Canaan is mainly an outdoor playground paradise.
Hot springs??? We have a place at Canaan and have gone there about every weekend for the last 6 years. I am not familiar with a hot spring. Not saying there is not one, but I have never heard of it.
Hot springs, history, and some nature -sounds like you want the Berkeley Springs area of WV. It's not far from Harpers Ferry. Another option is The Greenbrier Resort - famous for its spa.
As to Canaan Valley - There is a lot to do & see - too much for me to list here... great hiking, go to the Purple Fiddle for lunch (quirky neat place), see the Blackwater Falls, check out WV crafts at Mountainmade, see the windmills, hike Dolly Sods. Deer everywhere and you may even get a bear in your yard(don't be scared - our bears are more afraid of you unless you are between it and its cubs).

Thank you!! Those links are very helpful. I got the hot springs mixed up with Berkeley Springs, thanks for setting me straight or I would have gone nuts asking everyone lol. We booked at Black Bear. Thank you again
