Look at the Copper Queen in Bisbee.
Will do, Thanks.
Ooops -- should have said 'reasonably priced' romantic retreat. Copper Queen is waaay too expensive.
Cafe Roka is good for dinner. http://www.caferoka.com/CafeRokaBisbee.html
This is not what you are looking for either, but one day I'm going to Bisbee to see it -

I just think they are so cool
Maybe lunch at Dot's Diner?
Shady Dell looks quite retro, but I'm w/out a trailer. Dot's Diner is a definite maybe. And Cafe Roka -- wow. Looks fantastic.
Thanks!
But you can rent one of those retro trailers
I'm going to...one day.
Be sure to make reservations ahead of time at Cafe Roka
I second the Cafe Roka recommendation, it is wonderful. But as I recall, they are not open every night, and they do fill up - so be sure to check ahead and make reservations. We called ahead for reservations the same day and were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar, but it was too last minute for a table.
Have never stayed in Bisbee, but am wondering how this B&B might be? http://www.calumetaz.com/index.html
I went to Bisbee last year. The Copper Queen Hotel is very nice. I brought up rates on the internet for 2 days in the month of July. The total cost, including tax was $270.96. Check out the other places (not many) & you will find that the Copper Queen is not that much more in cost but a lot more in quality. Bisbee is pretty cool.
Got a res tied up at Cafe Roka. As to Copper Queen, I was looking for something with separate cottages and more pastoral -- think I've found it at the Gardens at Mile High Ranch. Will report after our visit.
Thanks all!
Looking forward to your trip report - have fun!
Wanted to jump into this conversation to ask this:

If we can't stay overnight in Bisbee, is it worth making the big loop off I10 just for the day? IOW, is there enough to see / do / dine just for the day? Or is the charm / appeal found in the ovenighting?
Bisbee has been on my to-see list, after reading about it in AZ Hwys mag years ago.
We did Tombstone years ago with the kids or would do the two towns together. Tombstone was definitely touristy but enjoyable
Ellen, please go to the Shady Dell for me. Take a couple of pictures.
Hi Starrs!

Yes, I was thinking it might be fun! I saw pics years ago and thought it sure would be unique
Since then though, we've slept in a Tipi / Teepee in Williams, AZ and a Caboose in Williams, AZ; the latter wasn't that great
But it sure looks fun, plus Dot's diner.
Which is why I'm wondering if the overnight stay is the real attraction in Bisbee?
I've stayed in that teepee too.
Hey Starrs, tried to get a ressie at the shady dell and there are no vacancies, for most of the summer, too. I'll keep trying for a cancellation. Even tho none have full bathrooms
Love the kitchy-ness!
Any other ideas out there?
