Biloxi questions again

The short story is that we're going to Biloxi in February. We want this to be an inexpensive jaunt and don't want to stay at one of the casino hotels. Been there, done that in other cities and figure if we want to gamble or see a show, we can just go to one of the casinos.

Anyway, I'm considering 2 Marriott Courtyard hotels. With the senior rate and the fact that we'll be there mid-week, we can stay for under $90 a night. The question is which hotel of the two. I know nothing about Biloxi, neighbourhoods, shopping, food, any nice areas with some charm, etc.

I expect we'd like to be near decent shopping, maybe a mall with a movie theatre in it, and some casual but decent restaurants. We'll likely want to hear some good music. We'll have a car. We won't be going anywhere fancy.

Both hotels have the amenities we want (free wi-fi, free parking, fitness centre) and both get good reviews. Here they are:

Courtyard Marriott Biloxi North/d'Ibverville -- (one of the review said 'close to shops and theatre')
OR
Courtyard by Marriott Gulfport Beachfront -- (it won't be beach weather and we may not even get a beachside room, so the beachfront think may be moot)

Which do you think is the better neighbourhood for our stay? And if you have any restaurant or entertainment suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Other hotels too.
Thanks
gtg

The beach front hotel will be super close to the casinos and lots of great places to eat. There is a mall not far from the casinos going toward Gulfport (right up the road). Plus there is fabulous shopping to be had at the outlets in Gulfport.

Thanks so much, HOTS. Any cinemas in that area? Or is it not to far a drive to the ones on Cinema Road?

They are less than 30 minutes apart from one another with the golf courses in between. The one in D'Iberville is closest to Beau Rivage. Distance-wise the two are pretty much a wash.

The one in D'Iberville is 167 feet from an 18 screen theater.
Literally across the street - just walk out the hotel door and across the parking lot to the theater -

11471 Cinema Drive to 11470 Cinema Drive = feet away

Well, there seem to be a lot of decent choices for very little money. And guess what...now my SO is talking about the Beau Rivage. I checked the prices and during the week rooms seem to be well under $100. We'll see though. Maybe. I dunno.

I'm not that big a fan of casinos. I'd probably want to be at the courtyard with the 18 screen theater next door if I want to be entertained while hubby has the car and is playing golf

Well, that's sort of how I feel too. But this is his trip, he's footing the bill and I don't really care. I'll drop him off at the golf course, go to the mall, go to an afternoon movie or laze around in bed and read.
