Our airfare and car rental costs are roughly the same whether we pick Billings or Bozeman. Landing at one and flying out from the other would add $100 to car rental. Which option should we pick?

Have you ruled out Jackson for some reason?
Our cheapest airfare is to Billings or Bozeman. Jackson would add approximately $300 for the whole family.
What part of the park do you want to enter from? I think Bozeman is closest to the West and North entrances (1 1/2). I'm doing the same math regarding rental cars......we want to enter the park through the NE entrance and travel via Beartooth Highway. My plan is to fly in through Bozeman and spend 1 night in Red Lodge, Mt and drive to YNP next day. We are departing YNP through the West entrance. Billings is closer to the NE entrance so really need to figure out where your starting point is in the park.
