Bike trails in the Keys?

We will be driving to Key West from Miami in early December for a long weekend.

We plan to take our bikes on the car.

Do you know of any interesting trails on any of the keys for the trip down? Thanks for any information

No, I don't know of any trails and I would definitely not ride my bikes on the road.

The Middle and Upper Keys aren't really conducive to bike riding.

There is a bike path in Key Largo that runs alongside US 1 from mm 106 to mm 92. Further, on Upper Matecumbe (Islamorada), the "old" US-1 parallels the new US 1 and does not have much traffic. So,while not exactly scenic or interesting, it certainly makes the upper Keys more conducive to bike riding than many other places in S. Florida!

I stayed at Parmers resort on Little Torch Key 3 years ago and did some biking in the area though not on what you probably consider traditional bike trails.
The next island south is Big Torch Key and it is very lightly inhabited. You can start out at Route 1 and go between 8 and 9 miles out the key with little traffic to bother you. The road surface is good and the terrain is flat (naturally). A map will show the routing straight out to the end or you could make a day of it and try all the side roads. You can't get lost there.
Another decent cycling location is from the north end of the old Seven Mile Bridge along the trail (or sidewalk...not sure what they consider it)up to the vicinity of the airport. You run along Route 1 but you are off the road. Just watch the side roads and driveways.
There is also a separate though roadside trail on Big Pine Island which brings you through the area where the key deer abound...you will almost definitely see them.
Bahia Honda State Park is about the best natural (I think) beach in the keys and is another good place to pedal around.
