Between Naples and Fort Myers
Hi
Our travel is very limited for several months, but I'm going to see my elderly aunt who lives in Fort Lauderdale. We will fly from PA to Ft Lauderdale, where we've been many many times. I'm only going to see my aunt, not to vacation.
I would like to tack a few extra days on to the trip and fly back to PA from Fort Myers. We made one brief visit to Florida's West Coast many years ago and we liked it. That trip was to Naples for a family party at the Inn at Pelican Bay. Decent place with a nice pool and easy drive to the beach.
If we drive from Ft Lauderdale straight west, we will be around Naples, but will be happy to stay someplace north of there (leaving from Fort Myers).
We are looking for romantic scenery with beautiful sunset views. Quiet would be nice. It will just be us, a married couple in our sixties. Not active. We like walks and pretty drives. If the place was beautiful enough, we might stay put. I won't be cooking.
I think for two nights, I'd like a hotel best. As pretty as possible, with parking, and hopefully under $200 per night. This will likely happen during the first few days of October 2016.
Looking for suggestions. Thanks so much.

Ft Myers Beach is pretty and in October I would expect it to be quiet. Beautiful sunsets. You could stay on Ft Myers Beach and take a drive to Sanibel and Captiva. I want to say that Sanibel is less than 30 minutes away.

Definitely Sanibel and Captiva.
Both known for their amazing shelling beaches.
Quiet. Lovely. Would be perfect in October.

It does seem that Sanibel, Captiva and Ft Myers Beach are our best bets.
What I'm finding are lots of condos and not that many hotels. Hotel prices seem doable at this time of year, by my preliminary checking.
Does anyone have a favorite hotel?
