We will be traveling from San Diego to LA by train and staying in the Beverly Hilton for a couple of nights (Fri and Sat in Sept). We are meeting friends there. They are traveling by car and will arrive the day after we do. Is there a good way to get from the station to the hotel on public transportation? We could take a cab, but it looks like enough of a distance that it would be very expensive. I would appreciate any advice.

I think a cab is in the $50 range, the bus from Union Station would be about 70 minutes and no room for anything but small luggage. It is called Rapid Bus #704.

Luggage is not a problem as we be traveling light, but 70 minutes, yikes!
