Best way to get from aiport to disney resorts?

I see Mears has a shuttle, but for a family of 4, that could get expensive. Is a cab the most economical way to get from the airport to a Disney resort?

Aren't Mears prices round trip? I don't think the savings would be that much one way or the other. Last time I took a cab, it was around $40 one way but, it went directly to my hotel and didn't have to make other stops as Mears does.

The reviews I've read of Mears are pretty awful.

Has anyone used one of the driver services? They seem pretty economical compared to Mears for a family of 4 . . .

We used Tiffany Town cars last year and it worked out great.

They met us at the luggage area with a sign with our name( actually I had them use my granddaughters name).

Although we used them to take us directly to our hotel, they will make a 20 min grocery store stop at no additional charge.

At check out time, they were waiting outside our hotel for the return trip.

I'd definitely use them again.

Consider renting a car. Rates fairly reasonable in orlando based on many visits there. Though Disney does have excellent transportation system between hotels and parks, you'll save a lot of aggravation and time by driving. (parking at parks is free if you're staying at a Disney resort) Another advantage is being able to food shop off site. We've probably paid for the rental car in breakfast savings by getting muffins and cereal for breakfast in room.

If you are staying on Disney property I would hire the town car. The shuttle stops at different places so it may take an hour or more to get to your hotel. The cost of the town car is worth it and not much more than the cost of the cab or shuttle. We used a town car when we visited Disney World in January. Will do it again when we go back to visit Universal.
