Help! I need suggestions for the most convenient and most cost-effective way to get from south Jersey to JFK. Has anyone had experience with either public tranportation or a shuttle service up there? I'm thinking a shuttle service might be too expensive, however public transportation might be too much of a hassle since we will be carrying some luggage (not much though.) If I took Greyhound to the Port Authority, what's the best way to get to the airport from there? And how long would it take to get to the airport? Also, I'm aware of the option of taking the R7 out of Philly and connecting to NJ Transit in Trenton, but am thinking that might be too long and too cumbersome.
If anyone has a better idea, please share it!

South Jersey, as in Cape May, Wildwood, Atlantic City?
Looking at both cost and travel times, I found the best compromise by taking a NJT bus (#349??) from Wildwood to NYC PABT and walked to Penn Station (to catch an Amtrak). But from PABT you might wish to use

Both the NJT and the airport service use full sized "motor coaches" with under bus luggage compartments. Fare for the airport shuttle is $15 / $27rt You might prefer a cab from PABT to JFK, but for solo travel I've been pleased with their service.
The NJT stopped at many towns before it got to A.C., but then traveled non-stop from there -- this was 4 yr ago.

No, south Jersey as in Cherry Hill. However based on your suggestions, am thinking of taking Greyhound (from Mt. Laurel) to the Port Authority station and catching the airport shuttle from there. How long did it take from midtown to JFK?
