Best way from Port Authority NY to 780 3rd Ave

Taking bus from PA to Port Authority. Will arrive at Port Authority around 8.00 a.m. and need to get to a seminar at 780 3rd Ave (Dale Carnegie). Best way?

what's the cross street? assuming it's uptown, the E from Port Authority to 51st street (and switch to 6 line) is most likely your best bet.

yes, take the E (Uptown) to 51st street. It drops you off at Lexington, walk one avenue over (east) to 3rd and couple blocks down. I'd give yourself 20mns/half hour to be safe.

The Port Authority is a long way from East 51st street.

The Port Authority Bus Station is around Eighth Avenue and 42nd Street.

Your best bet would be to take a cab.

You need to go from the far West side of Manhattan to the East Side.

Take the E subway line to 51st and Lexington, as others have said -- its much faster than a taxi (in which you will crawl at that time).

yes, the E is a lot faster and connected to Port Authority. Taxis will take you forever to get cross town during rush hour.

Thanks all! Is 20-30 minutes TOTAL travel time? Doesn't sound too bad..

I've walked that distance in 25 minutes, but it depends how young/in shape you are. It really isn't that far--nine short blocks north, and seven long blocks east.
