Best stays in Jackson hole/tetons
Hello
We are spending 3 nights/days in the Jackson hole/ grand Teton area (Sunday thru Wednesday) before heading up to Yellowstone for several days.
What is the best place to stay maybe 1 nite somewhere & 2 in another location? Or all 3 nites someplace. There is 6 of us, 2 of those are teens. As for price nothing crazy high but willing to pay for a good experience.
Kids I am sure will want to do some fun stuff.
Thanks for any suggestions

It was one of the less expensive places when we were there and like every hotel the price varies with the season and events. Try looking at hotels.com or such with your dates. Interestingly, I did that and got what seemed like a good rate, then called the hotel and they offered a better one even though I did not mention the rate I had found.

Just back from Jackson, Tetons and Yellowstone. Stayed in town at the Lexington Inn and it was really great. Walking distance (2 blocks!) from the center of town, super comfy rooms and great beds. Price was in line with others in the area. I looked at Alpenhof in Teton Village and am glad we didn't stay there since its a drive into Jackson.
Oh! Be sure to go to Cafe Genvieve in town for great, great burgers. Its a local place and if we had more time we would have tried breakfast and lunch there too. Bakery next store is excellent as well.
Hope you have a great trip!

birder, it depends on what the OP is looking for. Jackson Hole is an area that includes both Teton Village on the northern edge and Jackson on the southern edge. They are 13 miles apart. Teton Village where the Alpenhof is located is thus that much closer to the National Park. If the OP's primary
interest is in visiting the park, then Teton Village is the most convenient to the park. If the OP is interested in what a larger town has to offer and doesn't mind the extra distance to the park, then choose Jackson. Teton Village does have shops and restaurants and such, but not on the scale of Jackson.

We are staying at Coulter Bay this time. We stayed at Jackson Lake Lodge last time. It's hard to find availability IN the park, but I highly recommend it if you can. We would stop at Jackson as we drove around the park, but I really like the in-park lodging.

I passed through Coulter Bay on our recent visit just to see what it looked like and thought it pleasant. Although on the map it seems somewhat north and thus a bit removed from the park, in actuality the park is not all that large so it is still easy to get to other areas fairly quickly.
