best resort in oahu

Planning a trip to Oahu in Feb 2009 with our 11 y.o daughters. Looking for a hotel with the prettiest grounds - we love lots of pools, waterfalls, lush vegetation, jacuzzis, preferably waterslides. A little worried if Royal Hawaiian will be completed by them. Would love suggestions

There simply aren't waterfalls, water slides, jacuzzis at most pool setups within Waikiki.

Hilton Hawaiian Village I believe has the closest to what you describe.

Kahala Resort with its own dolphin swim and large pool area. Or Turtle Bay Resort up on the North Shore... are two luxury places on Oahu.

I agree that Hilton Hawaiian Village would be a good choice for you. The other two are a bit off the main tourist areas if that is important for you and your family. In spite of being on Waikiki, the HHV is far enough away that you won't feel cramped for beach or pool space. It's still close enough that you can easily walk to dining, shopping, etc.

The hotel you're looking for is the Grand Wailea on Maui.

Royal Hawaiian Hotel opening is supposed to be in January.

They are going to have 2 or 3 water slides. (I hope they don't take away from the Royal Hawaiian as we know it)

There is very little grounds at Royal Hawaiian. They do have a small garden court.

I think I would opt for Hilton Hawaiian Village. They have grounds with lush vegetation & several pools.

Spend an afternoon at Hawaiian Adventures Water Park.

Lots of info:

If that type of resort is more important than the specific island, you might want to consider Maui instead.
