Best Place to Visit in December

My family and I are planning a vacation for the week of Christmas this year. Where in Florida do you suggest we stay. I have looked into staying in the keys, and possibly Panama City. I want to be somewhere warm and kid friendly, near the beach.

The answer to this question largely depends on your personal preferences and interests. What do you want to do when you are in Florida?

If you want to be warm, think South Florida (either coast) or even Central Florida (e.g. Cocoa Beach). It probably won't be warm enough to go swimming although there are other things to do by the beach. I suspect Panama City will be downright chilly (by our standards, at least).

We would like to swim and my husband would like to fish. We have been thinking about Cocoa Beach, but have not decided yet.

Unless you are from Alaska or Canada, the ocean water temps in December will be too cold to swim at Cocoa Beach!
Fishing should be fine.

321go, do you agree?

As the Family Travel Expert for VISITFLORIDA.com, I suggest you visit the site to determine the best kid-friendly beach destinations Florida has to offer. I also suggest that before you go, you check my site http://www.FamilyTravelPlanet.com for what to bring and for some of my favorite things. Whenever you are headed on a Family Vacation, don't forget to ID your kids and make sure they have your cell number with them at all times. On my site, FamilyTravelPlanet.com, I can show you where to get those waterproof ID bracelets and give you other tips for packing and organization. I think you'll find the tips helpful for your Florida vacation.
