I have read that the Mammoth and Gardiner areas of Yellowstone have large elk herds as winter approaches. We'll be there the 3rd week of Sept and have reservations for 1 night at Mammoth, but wondering if we should make it two in order to try to get to hear the bugling, etc. Any advice?
