A buddy and I our coming in town for the Final Four. We will probably have a couple of extra days for sightseeing. We want to stay at a hotel that is convenient to it all. Well, if such a thing exists. Obviously, we will be going to the games, but want to see the sights and experience what New Orleans has to offer.
I was looking at the Hilton website and 3 hotels are available of the 3 which would have the best location and what are goods and bads. Any other ideas and suggestions?
The Roosevelt, Homewood Suites New Orleans, and Hampton Inn New Orleans Downtown.

Hampton Inn Downtown has best price points nicest rooms
I LOVE their comfy bads and central to everything.
neworleansonline.com booking.com for others with a map.
Hilton Riverside is the nicest of the Hiltons for me but chock a block older and lots more $$$. Best location for tourism though right at the foot of canal and the river Pete Fountain's is a GREAT Jazz Club there if money is no object might go for that.
Happy Hunting!

Used to own a Condo here it is wonderful at the river on Esplanade across from the mint. Close but removed from the madding crowds my personal fav are around the quarter usually at better price points for a nice apt.
Canal Street or Poydras not far from the River - close to Jackson Square, the Quarter, the trolley into the Garden District and a < 20 minute walk from the Superdome. Wouldn't stay IN the Quarter - too much noise and nuttiness.
If you don't have a room now you will have a difficult time finding one in the FQ.
