Best Deals in Vegas
I'm curious to know how people get the best deal in Vegas. I have to fly there so I am interested in good deals for flights. Also, what sites do you find that are the best? What airline do you think is the best? Do you think booking each separately is better than a package I have to fly out of Hartford, Ct. or Albany, NY.

You can start by checking sites like expedia.com or travelocity.com and those will give you a general idea of what prices are like at the moment. My boyfriend found a great package for 700$ including direct flight and hotel over the holidays.
You can also look into some of the specials on vegas.com.
Hope that helps!

I have been to Vegas about 10 times in the past 5 years. In the past I used to always book my hotel and flight separate finding that to be the cheapest option. However, with airfare prices skyrocketing I have found that I can often book a package for little more than the cost of the airfare alone.
The past few trips I have found very good rates at www.usairwaysvacations.com. I just looked and for 4 nights at the MGM with airfare from hartford the total price for two people including taxes is $771.00. This is for Jan 3 - 7. The same days and flights on expedia came to $828.00. However, never book anything until you check all the travel sites. Depending on how soon you would like to go travelocity has their last minute deals and this past august I found a fantastic deal there. If you would like to post some dates I may be able to help you further. Good Luck!

Thank you Melissa for the information. I think I found a pretty good deal thru Expedia. I am going the last week in April of 2009 so I would expect prices to be a little higher. I got airfare from Hartford, 5 nights at the Flamingo, the cancellation insurance, plus taxes for $940.00. I think that was a pretty good deal. Also, they were good flights. One stop each way and decent times. What do you think?

I returned from Vegas yesterday. This is the inexpensive time of the year and I paid $45 per night at the Flamingo and $119 per night at the Venetian, which included $50 in slot credits and $50 in nightclub money.
Make sure you check all the hotel websites for special deals before you do with a package. Two flights from Florida and two nights at the Flamingo cost $590 which was less than any package I could find, and I did lots of shopping!
For a good description of all the hotels, check out cheapovegas.com and I strongly recommend you stay on the Central part of the Strip.

Teriberi,
I checked a couple sites for that last week of April and that is a very good deal. April is generally one of the most expensive months in Vegas in terms of rooms and flights because the weather is so nice during that time.
As you get closer to your trip check out www.smartervegas.com or www.travelzoo.com to find show discounts for the days you are going. Let me know if you need any tips and have a great trip!! - Melissa

We always book through Southwest Airlines. Right now they are offering a 50% discount. We booked a week before this promo came out and missed it, but we still ended up with a pretty good deal.
We usually do the vacation packages, but if you look at the individual hotels websites, they are really giving away some good deals. Price it both ways and then take the cheapest route.
