Hello. We are going to arriving in Solana Beach on Christmas day. As Jewish people do on Christmas day, we eat chinese food and go to a movie. I have never been to this area before and figure that just as back east, the only restaurants open, besides restaurants to eat "Christmas Dinner " will be chinese restaurants. What is your favorite chinese restaurant?

In a retirement area like Del Mar, a lot of people eat out on Christmas so there will be other things open.
But why break your Xmas eve tradition when there is a great spot like CHINA CAFE waiting for you?
Now, as for a good movie....how about THE FIGHTER?
We Jews love to go to a movie on Christmas Eve. I like Yogi Beara.He was a great catcher and a great motion picture.
Those Chinese people, I love them and their restaurants.
Del Mar has one of the better Pick up Stix(its a take out chain but this location has a decent eat in area) Ive been to, with an outdoor patio if weather permits.

I don't think I have been to a movie since last Christmas day when I saw Avatar.
I just checked reviews for China Cafe and looked at their website and found they are closed for Christmas, shucks. It sounds great. I don't think there is a chinese restaurant closed on Christmas day back east. Any other suggestions?
That whole area from Oceanside down to La Jolla can be hit n miss with restaurant closings. Pick up Stix is very good & should be open, as well as the Pf Changs in Carlsbad(cant rec it-wayy too much salt). Other than that, let your movie destination pick your place. We just went over to Tustin Marketplace for a movie and found the best Vietnamese place just walking by.
