Best casino and place to stay in Atlantic City
Hi,
Going to drive there for one night with three friends and want to stay at a casino hotel. So far all the prices we have found are pretty high and sure that is because it is a weekend. Any suggestion of where to stay and what casinos to hit. I know AC is nothing like Vegas but just want to have some fun and gamble. Thanks!

My Fiance just went to the Borgata last weekend and he said he thought he had died and went to Vegas. He said it was such a scene. The spa was wonderful and the rooms as amazing.
we used to stay at the Trump Marina, since it was smaller and didnt get the boardwalk traffic but I have a feeling we will be staying at the Borgata from now on

Borgota is great but as all ready said it is not on the boardwalk. A jitney bus for $3.00 will take you to the boardwalk and the other casinos. Once on the boardwalk you can walk from one to the other.

Thanks! I have also heard the Borgata is great but the rate right now for the weekend we want to go is 425 a night! Anyone stay at the Hilton before, I know it is no on the boardwalk. Know rates will be higher on the weekend but would like something no higher than 200 a night.

The Borgata is nice but in a not-so-nice area...suggest you stay on the boardwalk and visit the Borgata. Have stayed at Bally's and Resorts. Both rooms are nice but nothing spectacular...Bally's is a wee bit more plush. Liked playing at both casinos. From Resorts you can hit the Taj Mahal (without going outside) and the Kasbah (sp?) dance club which is a lot of fun if you are into that scene.
have fun!

Was in AC for the first time two weeks ago. Stayed at the Showboat. Really liked it. The room was very pretty with a view of the ocean and the lighthouse. Enjoyed the casino - lots of bells going off with jackpots but unfortunately not for me. There's a parking garage for $3.00 (total not per day).
The Showboat is the last casino on the far end of the boardwalk and the Hilton is at the other end. The Hilton is a little ways from the other casinos but not too far to easily walk. So that may be why the Hilton is cheaper. I thought Caesars was a really nice casino and enjoyed playing there.

Harrah's on the marina (near the borgata) has done recent renovations. My in-laws stay there often and I saw their room a few weeks ago. Huge bathroom and very big room. You may need to ask for the new tower- I think- because I am not sure if all rooms were renovated or not. For $3 you can part in any casino at the boardwalk if you want to drive over. Harrah's also had a restaurant called "coral reef" or something similar to that. It was a good seafood buffet.

I live near AC and have seen a lot of the rooms and stayed in some. I have never seen a bad room in a casino. And I have never paid more than $65/nt. I would recommend the Sands for it's dining. Great restaurants - Medici (Italian) and The Brighton Steakhouse. Both are pricey but a treat well worth it. Outlets are opening up just a block from Ceasar's and Trump Plaza. If you like hockey, The Boardwalk Bullies. If you like shows, you can see just about any type of entertainment. I would base my stay around what shows and/or dining I would be doing. Also, great brunch at the Taj Mahal on Sunday ($40/person).
Good luck.
Good luck.

I always stay at Caesars. The rooms are quite nice. Try to stay in the Centurion Towers. You may be able to get a free upgrade with a little "suite" talk. Never been to the Borgota; but the buzz is good. Restaurants sound better than Caesars even though it is off of the Boards. Truth is, not many people spend the evening on the Board walk anyway.
