Best budget hotel close O'Hare airport
Arrive Chicago O'Hare around 5pm after very long haul flight from Australia.
Thought we would stay somewhere close to airport the first night to freshen up before moving to hotel Downtown next day.
Which budget ( cheap) hotel could you recommend that would have free airport shuttle positioned close to transit connection to Downtown- or would we have to go back to the airport?
Thanks

bid on priceline. go to www.betterbidding.com and see the winnings bids for chicago o'hare. $45 will get you probably the hyatt, so I would give it a try after you read up and learn how to do it.
also www.hotwire.com wil actually show you the amenities but not the name of the hotel.
Remember, once bought these are "done deals" no cancelations, etc. Shouldn't be a problem.
But in your case, can't you just keep moving to where the beautiful lights and architecture are and go into Chicago on the transit or with a car service from the airport to a hotel in town? Time-wise it would probably only take an extra 30 minutes or so and you would wake up , or best yet.. arrive seeing the buildings lit up.
I would take a fixed price service as a taxi might run into rush hour traffic and the bill be quite high.

Looks like the Rosemont Holiday Inn has a complimentary shuttle and gets good reviews on Tripadvisor.

I agree with lincasanova. You're better off staying downtown from the start. It's an easy train ride from the airport to the city and when you wake up the next morning, you'll be right where you want to be.
