Best Attraction in Nashville

I will be in Nashville for business for a couple of days next week, with limited personal time. If I can only visit one attraction in the downtown area, which do you recommend? I'm staying at the Omni and need to be able to walk to it or take the trolley.

Thanks!

Lucky you, staying at that gorgeous hotel!

The first place that comes to mind is the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum which is across the street (more or less) from your hotel. You may think you don't like country music, which is fine, but the museum is so well done and all encompassing, it's more like a pop culture museum.

You can also walk a few blocks north to The Ryman Auditorium and take a tour...historic building that has been (recently) well cared for and has a great deal of history inside its walls.

Agreed with the above. Country Music Hall of Fame, if you are a country music fan, I would try and squeeze in the Ryman Auditorium too. It has seen such historical figures and the building tells some cool stories, it doesn't take as much time as the CMHF. Try to get down to Broadway and go to Roberts Western World to hear some great live music and get their special: Fried bologna sandwich with potato chips and a beer.

I would pick the Ryman tour. It would be great if there's a concert going on.

Ditto the above. If you can do both the Hall of Fame and the Ryman, I'd do that. Otherwise I'd prioritize the CMHOF even if you don't like country. (I don't, if we're talking about Luke Bryan et al, but I think the museum is fantastic.)

If you do the Ryman and it fits in your schedule, I'd pay the extra few dollars for the backstage tour.
