Best areas to live in Houston for 30 yr old ?

Houston is so big......I was wondering what you thought about nice areas for 30 year olds to live? We looked around Bering Dr, south of Woodway Dr....that seemed like a nice neighborhood. Any other suggestions for areas with parks, families, young people?

Good luck musictub in finding a place in Houston and more important good luck in your new life. So as for the question it actually depends on what you are looking for. I mean Houston is huge so you better find something near work and then the commute wont be to long but if you prefer the suburbs that’s something to consider. So, there are good neighborhoods on all sides of town. I personally prefer to stay out of Southwest Houston. Depending on your price range you can consider: Rice Village and West University, great but pricey. The in the middle range you can find places in the South side. It has Pearland, Friendswood, Clear Lake, and League City.

Do you have a price point in mind?

www.har.com is a great site to use once you've come up with a specific area.

Me, I prefer to live close to work so that has pushed me out to the burbs to avoid commute time.

Thanks for your replies. We're looking inside the 610 loop at Houston Heights. Hope to find something...it looks like a nice area.

The Heights is a pretty area, lots of old Victorian style houses there. The Memorial area and Energy Corridor are also popular with young families. They're on the west side of town.
