Belleview Biltmore-Clearwater, FL

My husband will be in Clearwater for business next week and staying at the Belleview Biltmore Hotel. I'm tagging along. We will just have a few evenings free. Suggestions for casual, not too expensive dinners? How is the food at the hotel? I'll probably just hanging around there during the day. Thanks all!

Will you have a car? When you say not too expensive, how much is that exactly? There is an excellent Thai restaurant in the Largo Mall right near the Albertson's. I can't recommend it enough and everyone I take there manages to go back on their own and take more people with them.
As for the hotel restaurant, although I haven't eaten there myself, a friend tells me the Chinese chicken salad was great.

Thanks very much! Yes, we will have a car. As far as cost, I would say around $15 for an entree.

You could head over to the beach via the Bellair Causeway and north through Sand Key and try Frenchy's. It is VERY casual and it is right on the beach. Gulf Blvd. may get congested with people coming and going from Clearwater Beach so just a warning.

The Thai restaurant is perfect. I just thought of another place that meets your requirements. On Clearwater Largo Rd, Grillmarks. Good food, good prices. Also on CW-Largo rd near the hotel is The Greek Islands. Not fancy but good home cooking. Same street, also nearby, The Wildflower Cafe but don't know if they are open for dinner. I hear they make the best BLT in the world.

ahotpoet,
Thanks for the tips and the offer at the Thai restaurant. We never made it there, but had good meals regardless. Thanks again!

We had dinner at the Belleview Biltmore, where we were staying, Frenchy's Rockaway Grill and The Cabana Grill. We stayed at the hotel to eat a couple of nights because of the storms. Wow, what weather !

I love the thunder and lightning but I'm not so crazy about the humidity. Oh well.
Nonetheless, I hope you enjoyed your stay in our little town.

I did love the thunder and lightening..although more intense than I've ever seen. The humidity was hard to take, you're right. The mosquitoes were a bit much too. The beaches were so beautiful!
