Bed & Breakfast in NOLA

My girlfriend and I are going to NOLA in Mat or June. I would like to stay at a Bed & Breakfast similar to those in Europe and close to the sights, but not in a noisy area. What recommendations can you give me?

Actually, BeachBoi, Lady12 posted a duplicate post. My answer (and yours) are still listed on the other posting.

(For a second, I really was wondering what I said that was so bad!)

Two that get very favorable reviews are La Maison Marigny (on the quiet, residential end of Bourbon) and B&W Courtyards (on Chartres in the Faubourg Marigny, adjacent to the French Quarter). You won't go wrong with either. One caveat: Although the two I mentioned are licensed, there are lots of B&Bs in NO that aren't. Be sure and get one that is!

We have stayed at BandW Courtyards twice in the past year. It is located close to the French Quarter and definitely has charm. The hosts are great at suggesting fabulous restaurants. If this is your first visit to NOLA, they will even take the time to give you an overview. You won't be disappointed if you chose BandW Courtyards. You can check out their website

We've stayed at Lafitte's Guest house and highly recommend it. It is located at the quiet end of Bourbon Street.
It gets great reviews ..check out rants and raves.

Lafitte Guest House isn't QUITE at the quiet end of the street as the Blacksmith Shop bar across the street can still get kinda noisy at times. MUCH quieter than, say, the Bourbon Orleans though.

Highly recommend the Avenue Inn on St. Charles just beyond the Garden District. The street cars stop almost in front of the Inn. Very quiet and great location to Commander's, Upperline, Jacque Imo's (our pick for best food, good prices) and just about 10 minutes down to the Quarter by street car. Joe and Bebe will take great care of you and line up any tours or reservations you want. If you have time, take a plantation tour. They will pick you up at the front door. Uglesich's is great for lunch. Only a block off St. Charles across from Emeril's. Enjoy!

I suppose the idea of a truly quiet end of Bourbon is rather silly..but I found that area of Bourbon quieter than the more travelled parts..that being said I also thought of The Soniat House.
