It was just the 3 girls, myself and two daughters (20 & 26), this past week at the Beau Rivage. We got the web special and opted for the cheaper city view, but requested a view of the bay (almost as good as gulf view) on a high floor. We got the 24th floor with a spectacular view, especially at night with the bay bridge all lit up.
We got a few spa treatments, worked out daily in the fitness room, and spent a lot of time at the pool. The spa treatments were about the same as others we've had, but a treat for us, and the fitness room had the latest in workout equipment. We did not gamble or eat at the casino on this trip.
The pool, while very pretty, is crowded during the summer. We were there on weekdays, so I can't imagine what the weekend must be like. I was really surprised by how many families go to a casino with small children for their summer vacation.
Go early (8 - 10 AM) to enjoy some quiet pool time.
Most of the eateries, like the BR coffee shop, offer free drink refills. Something to remember while staying there, since the prices can be pretty high.
We spent some time shopping in Gulfport at the Prime outlet mall and across the interstate at the Crossroads Shopping Center near the cinema. Found a few bargains at the outlet mall, but the other stores were all shopped out of summer sales for back-to-school.
We ate at the Ruby Tuesday in Biloxi off I-10 and I-110, TGIFridays at Crossroads, Backyard Burger and McAlisters on Pass Road, Old Biloxi Schooner on Howard, Blow-fly Inn on back bay, and Lookout 49 on hwy 49N. The only disappointment was one veggie burger at Ruby Tuesday. Other than that, we were never disappointed even at the fast food joints.
It was a great little getaway, and although we canceled reservations in Florida to stay closer to my home, it was still a great girls only escape!

Well, hello there BayouGal! So good to see you getting out with your daughters.
We have passed the Beau Rivage several times on our drives to Florida. It always seems inviting, and the location is sure great. Your view sounds delightful, so high and with the bridge in view.
Sounds like this was a real relaxing time for you, with the spa treatments and pool time. Even just a couple days away can make a huge difference, plus the time with your daughters is special too.
Here in Austin, we've got a McAlister's Deli. I wonder if it's the same. If so, they've got great iced tea!
Happy travels!
Well, hey there, Swisshiker!

For me, BeauRivage makes a nice little trip close to home. We've seen some great shows there on past weekend getaways. This time it was a girls shopping, tanning, relaxing, and visiting with one another kind of trip. lol
Yes, McAlister's is a franchise, not sure how nationwide. My kids all love their tea, too. I think I'm the only southern woman that doesn't think tea.
