Beachfront house rental - Fort Walton Beach/ Destin area

I am in the early stages of planning a trip to Fort Walton Beach/Destin area this summer - mid July - five in the trip ( 4 adults 1 12yr old). Looking for a house to rent - nothing too big - sleep 5. On the beach or very close. I did find this one - like very much!!!

Thoughts on this one or similiar would be greatly appriecated. Looking to spend no more than $300 per night - 4-5 nights -

I am familiar with this area. I am not familiar with this exact house but I know the row of houses and the general area of Seagrove Beach really well. You will be right on the beach. The house is set back off the main road just a little bit (if I remember correctly).

We usually stay in a condo just down the street, the only "high rise" in the area, called www.oneseagroveplace.com. You can view the rooms, etc before renting. It is 2 bedrooms/2 baths with full kitchen and a pull out bed in the den. Also on the beach. You might look at that for price and space comparison.

There is a publix nearby and a handful of restaurants. Seaside is a small village of shops very close by. You can rent bikes. But the major touristy things to do, in Destin are a good 25 minutes away. Are you good with that?

I can't help you in the Ft. Walton-Destin area. However Panama City Beach is not far, and I can help there. Try the Sunnyside Beach and Tennis Club there. They have town houses for rent at reasonable rates, and they have a nice complex with lots of recreational facilities.

Also if you do decide on Seagrove, you are about halfway between Seaside and Rosemary Beach, which is the opposite direction. And then a little farther down that way is Panama City. It's a few miles farther than Destin but, depending on how long you are staying, might offer a whole different variety of things to do. We like to pretty much stay in Seagrove/Seaside the whole time because, well, we like the beach, and we like to be away from all the crowds. But sometimes we might go to Sandestin to Baytowne -- very fun activities there, and then we like to take a charter boat for fishing out of Panama City Beach.

I'm not a big fan of Panama City. I like the area along 30A much better - quieter, prettier, much more enjoyable IMO -
