Beach House Rental N. C Outer Banks
We are looking to rent a beach house in the Outer Banks last week of July 2002. I have been looking on the internet, but we need a house to accommodate 22-24 people. Definately want private pool and I think we need at least 8 bed rooms. And it must be oceanfront. would love input. Thanks

Most of the OBX websites will allow you to search based on your needs. Also consider some of the side by side houses or "duplex" houses. There are several that can be rented as a set; some that even share a pool, etc. I remember seeing one that even has a gate house that can be rented as well. You've listed 4 "musts" that may be difficult to accomodate (date, size, pool, and oceanfront). You may want to ask yourself which can be compromised. (Would across the street from oceanfront be acceptable?)

Try also midgettrealty.com. or emeraldisle.com I've never rented from either of them but researched extensively on the internet just the type of house you described. There were some tremendous houses available. Also agree with the duplex idea. We consider that option also.

Here's a website that lists many of the OBX rental agencies.

Our family has done just what you're planning, twice. Stayed at gorgeous 6 bedroom homes, oceanfront with pools and hot tub, about $6000 for the week. Used Nags Head Realty http://www.villagerealtyobx.com/, stayed in a development called the Village at Nags Head. Highly recommended. Also used Sun Realty, but the home was not accurately depicted, and the furnishings were not sufficient for 20 plus people. You may have a little trouble getting 8 bedrooms, they seem to top out at six or seven...but if you call, they will work with you.
