Beach house less than a week during spring break-Possible?

Our Spring Break is first week of April. For various reasons we can't rent a house for a full week - but really want to take visiting family to the beach. Every house I check out in the Southeast beaches (South Walton and also Amelia Island area) all require 1 week (usually sat to sat) during most of April.

Any thoughts of tips on finding a less than one week? Not a hotel (well be 14 people).

Hoping that last minute I might be able to land a house that isn't booked and negotiate less than a week rental - especially during this economy.

Would appreciate ideas.
